Q: Adderall Problems.

I am a 2nd year college student who has an insanely busy schedule. I work 3x a week from 530am-4pm. I have one hour after work to eat, pack my stuff, and head off to 3-4 hours of swim practice and strength training. On my days off, I have school pretty much all day, followed by practice again, and on weekends I have at least one swim meet. Recently, I was diagnosed with adhd and tried out a few different adhd medications, none of which helped. One day, I found some of my mom's adderall medication and I took two 10mg pills before work since I never get enough sleep and i'm always tired. It got me through my long shift and practice with amazing energy. It was awesome, I was happy, confident, and getting a lot of work done. Ever since that day about 5 months ago, I take adderall when I wake up only on my work days. I know its really bad but its so hard to get 5 hours of sleep and get up for a long day very early in the morning. I find adderall to help me focus my thoughts and it keeps me from getting stressed out with all the things I have going on in my life. I really feel that getting a perscription for adderall would really benefit me. What do you think? And how could I go about asking for the medication?

Well in your situation I would say that this could potentially be a good thing but only if you do not abuse this medication. Many users start off taking the recommended dose the a few weeks later the up it without doctor approval. This often leads to addiction. Which can lead to depression and suicidal tendencies. If you wanted to get a perscription, you could always just fail the adhd test, its quite simple to get a perscription really. It might be a good thing now but down the road it could become a real problem. Just be aware of the effects.

How long have you been using adderall?

How many do you take?

Do you take it daily?

I hope this helps,

I have been using adderall since september. I used to take 2 of the blue pills before work but now i'm only taking one. I only use it 3 days a week when I have to work.

Thats good im glad you can keep it under control well then I would say that you should try to get a perscription, you seem to work pretty hard and have a lot of self-discaplined. I myself on the other hand am a compulsive about everything, I used to smoke pot it started up about a year ago the first time I tried I was using it everyday. I've been compulsive about smoking pot, cigarettes (started smoking cigarettes to quit weed), at one point drinking, popping pills (any kind, now just adderall but have slowed down on that too). So just make sure you dont abuse and goodluck I hope it brings you many benefits.
