Q: Which Contraception Can I Use?

I'm really worried about what contraception to use after i've had my baby as I have had 2 unplanned pregnancies in 11 months (i've kept both babies)
with my first child I was on the pill when I fell pregnant. I still don't know what happened as I am certain I took it every day.
With my second we were using condoms but one must of split or something cause I was pregnant again 6 weeks after giving birth!
We definatley don't want anymore children and my partner wants a vasectomy but the doctor says hes too young (he's 22) and that we'll change our minds.I can't have implants or injections as theres a history of heart problems in my family and these can apparently double your risk of getting heart problems so my doctor won't give me them.
I'm considering the iud coil but i'm worried it might slip or come out. I'm also worried about chances of ectopic pregnancy as i'm obviouslly very fertile.
Please help any advice would be great!

Iud's are wonderful, and the increase risk of ectopic pregnancy has been proven to not be as great as once once thought. The iud is an excellent choice.

Really?
I want to know if the iud is painful, because i'm really interested in it but I don't want to be in any pain.

Okay insertion of an iud is very crampy, but it does not last long!!! You cannot feel it, it is just in there sitting still. It is worth the cramping I promise. Also they can give you painkillers to take, and motrin really did help lots!!! All I felt was like a period cramp.

Is there a risk of the coil slipping during sex?

Oh no, the coil(iud is also called that) will not slip during sex, although I can totally understand the question. It sits perfectly still, and will not intterupt sex either :)

The iud is totally up inside of your uterus except for a small string, and since sex only happens in the vagina, there's no way it'll slip during sex than any other strenuous activity :)

I just had my iud put in 2 weeks ago, and I actually had no cramping whatsoever when they inserted it. The doctor kept saying okay a little cramp, ok a little bigger one, but I felt nothing (i may just be a lucky one). Also, it didnt take very long at all for them to insert it, it took less than a pap would take. I hope that eases your mind a little bit about it. It is nothing like labor, so you should do fine 8)
