Most likely it is a swollen lymph node. I have a cat and whenever he scratches or bites my arm, my lymph node in that arm pit is swollen and tender for several days afterwards. Its happened several times to me, once I even went to the doctor and was put on antibiotics as a precaution. If it continues to be bothersome I would go see the doctor.
