Does Zinc Really Help?
Posted: 12-31-05 04:04am

I'm 20/m. I suffer from low sex drive and troubles with erections sometimes. Some say zinc 30mg a day would help. Is that true?

Some studies suggest that a zinc deficiency might cause sexual problems. It wouldn't hurt to try a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement that includes zinc, but don't take more than the rda (15 mg for men). It's usually not a good idea to take too much of anything, because doses that are too high probably won't help and can even cause more problems. It's best to get what you need from your diet, but that can be hard to do, so it's not a bad idea to take a multi supplement to be sure you're covered.

The product I got only has 22.5 mg of zinc per tablet. That ok?

That shouldn't hurt you, but you probably don't want to exceed that amount.

You should always consult your doctor before starting any zinc regiment program.

Like the cd said,

don't start taking large quantities of anything without talking to your doc. A simple multi-vitamin like tasha recommends is the best place to start.

Also, you should look at your diet and see if you are eating or drinking anything to inhibit your libido. Stuff like tons of soda or salt, I don't know if there is any science to diet/libido but it could be a place to start.

I've talked to a doctor. He said multi-vitamin supplements are okay, which is what i'm taking.

No I don't have a lot of sodas or salt in my diet..

I am not sure what else it could be. You are very young to be experiencing troubles in this area.

You may want to talk to your mom or dad if you feel comfortable eenough with either of them, they may be able to shed some light on the situation. It could be possible that you dad has low libido and he might help you to either conquer it or at least offer advice.

I've talked to them. They said it was psychological, which i'm sure it's not...The sensation in my penis and the cycle going on are impossible to be explained based on psychological caca...Not a chance.

What is this "sensation" you speak of? Like numbness?

Yeah, some numbness, and I don't have nearly as good sexual sensations in that area in days that i'm not normal. If I do then it won't last long. In days that i'm normal, that area also gets hot when i'm aroused...And my face as well as my body get hot when I masturbate...All I could tell you is that the sensations in that area around my penis are very totally extremely different in days that i'm normal compared with days i'm not. So different that I will never believe it's psychological although I tried hard to.

Whenever you have natural numbness (ie: meaning not from masturbation or something), you can almost always attribute it to nerve damage.

Oyster Extract Powder

A good zinc supplement, like a really potent oyster extract can increase serum testosterone levels. The result, higher libido and better erections. Do a search on google for oyster extract powder and buy a good one thats high in zinc. It worked for Casanova!
