How youever had to expliain seizures to a oral hygenists that took me about an hour to build up the confidence to have my teeth cleaned. Has anyone taken dilantin and had problems with your teeth and gums.

My son was just starting to have gum overgrowth problems with dilantin when he switched meds. He was around 9 at that time.

We used an electric toothbrush and that seemed to help some. We were told that frequent cleanings 2-3 times a year was necessary while on dilantin and that cleaning teeth well daily would help prevent some problems.
