For the past few days i've been feeling nauseous. I just had my period a week ago and started my new pills sunday. Both yesterday and today I have thrown up after taking my pill and surprisingly I haven't after eating. This being a first in over a year, which has been how long I have been on the pill. Has anyone else ever had anything like this happen to them?

Many women find that taking the pill with food is best for their nausea. But because you threw up your pills your birth control protection is compromised! I would say to take your pill with food, so you do not get sick. Use a backup for 7 days. You have to take the pills for 7 days with no throwing up for it to be effective. If you throw up 2-3 hours later then the pill would have already got into your system. Another option could be nuva ring, it does not cause the same effects :)

This might seem odd, but I was told that if u can't keep your pill down, that u can insert it vaginally and it will still work just as well. Not sure that you'd even want to try it, but it's good to know for ppl who are sick, etc...
