Q: White Eye Reflection In Photos

Actully this is for my 2 year old son. I have noticed that his photos turn out with one red eye and one white eye. This only happens to him in the pictures and no one else. I compared his pictures to those who have coats or retinoblastoma, and they look so much the same. We live in a somewhat small town. We went to see the eye doctor today with a referral from my sons pcm. The eye doc pretty much made me feel stupid saying that this was normal. He dialated his eyes anyway and looked at him with some type of magnifying glass. It was very hard as he squirmed a lot. He said nothing's wrong with him. That it's just probably some type of bad angle reflection on the optic nerve (how can this be when so many of the pictures are straight forward? And why is it in almost 80 percent of his pictures?) however I am hearing that this is not normal by any means. Should I get a second opinion. What else could this be, and are there any other ways to make a diagnosis?

Oh, and he is also complaing that his eye hurts and rubs it all the time.

white eye
Please get a second opinion. If you don't feel comfortable with what the doctor said you should persue it. Better to err on the side of caution because the white eye showing up in a photograph is a sign that it could be retinoblastoma.
