Q: Pain In Chest, Throat & Between Shoulderblades

About a month ago I got a sharp pain between my shoulderblades like you get when you swallow a large chunk of food that gets stuck. This has got worse and worse and sometimes feels like it's in my chest or throat. I've had an ecg (heart absolutely fine) and am waiting for a second endoscopy. However I have no trouble eating or swallowing, and have a good appetite. Sometimes the pain is so bad I have to take painkillers. My gp is at a loss. My first endoscopy was a failure because even under sedation I couldn't tolerate the scope and they gave up. I couldn't believe it - now i'm waiting to see if they'll do one under general anesthetic. What the hell is this pain? It's driving me nuts and has taken over my life. Otherwise I feel perfectly well. Any suggestions greatly appreciated! (i'm a 47-yr old female, by the way).
