My Dr. Scheduled me for a colposy after and abnormal pap. He told me that my pap showed I had hpv. He told me it was an std and did a biopsy. He did not say what was to happen or anything. I couldnt even ask any questions because he dissapeared without giving me a chance. I told my boyfried immediately and I am sure we have been faithful during our relationship. I think it is because of my ex and after one year I find out.

What am I to do? Am I suppose to wait until they call me? What tests can my boyfriend take to find out if he was infected?

My boyfriend has been supportive and not recentful. I dont want anything to happen to him...

I need advice...Anything...Please.

Theres no hpv test for males...So if your b/f doesnt have (yet) warts on his penis, then he's probably not infected or he's just a carrier (nothing much to worry bout).

And if u dont have warts yet, then i'm sure whatever kind u have, it can be treated. (if u have no warts)

When the biopsy comes back they will probably freeze (my recommendation anyways) anything on your cervix. After that you will go back for a regular pap if everything is good then you will wait 3 or 6 months before another. If that one is good then you will wait another 6 months if that one is good then you will go back to your annual pap. And this just continues in one big cycle.

I have dealt with this for several years now. I am in a monogamous relationship with my husband and I guess after awhile it doesn't seem like its an std. Hpv is very very common actually and they treat it so it doesn't develop into cervix cancer.

Hope everything goes well. :)

There are many different strians of hpv. Some cause abnormal paps and cancerous lesions, and some starins cause warts. If your biopsy comes back okay, they may wait and re-pap in 6 months.

There are hundred's of different strains of .H.P.V

they either cause abnormal paps, and eventually lead to cervical cancers or they have manifestations of warts. It is not curable, but can be treated to prevent cervical cancer or to remove the warts. Men do get both and the only way a man knows he has them is by getting the warts. There is a test that can possible find it if testing his sperm. He is also incurable if he has it, and if he has no warts he will not know, so it just keeps getting more wide spread. It is very common now, to have .H.P.V but none the less, it is still incurable. My daughter got from a boy who still swears he doesnt have it. But still continues to engage in umprotected sex.

It is not so common to spread it if you use a condom, but it is still possible for the warts may appear on the pubic mound, and condom dont cover that. It can also be spread by oral sex. That is about all I know about it.

Is a Hpv Test For Male
Anyone can get an antibody test for the hpv antibodies. If they're present, then you have hpv.
After that, even using a condom doesn't mean he can't become infected.
