I had at least 4 episodes of sharp pain
which took my breathe away. Also have
been light headed at times. Nauseous and
I am 27 wks pregnant. Lots of tension at
time and feel the need for quiet. Should
I get this checked my next appointment is
still 2 wks, away.

You should always advise your doctor of
any concerns you have with your pregnancy.
There are no "dumb" questions when it
comes to the safety of you and your child.
I'm sure any doctor would agree on this.
These symptoms don't sound like the
onset of preeclampsia. But it never
hurts to get it checked!

Those are not really the symptoms of
pre-eclampsia (im not sure how its
spelled) but ask your doctor. My sister
had it and the symptoms were swelling of
the feet, heartburn, blurred vision,
headaches, high blood pressure, protien in
your urine and very tired. You might want
to look in the net for more info. Its a
serious disease and a very scary one too.
Ask your doctor. Its better now then too
late on your behalf. The doctor told my
sister it wouldnt hurt the baby but it
would very much hurt her, luckily
everything went ok. Good luck!

Preeclampsia also known as toxemia have
the symptoms listed by nikki-caro. I had
it worth my first pregnancy. My doctor
suggested that between having gestational
diabetes and "toxemia" I should have
weekly visits with non-stress tests.
Toxemia can constrict blood vessels and
affect all your organs. It can cause you
to have coma, convulsions and stroke if
not treated properly. It is a various
serious condition to both you and your
unborn and requires close prenatal
monitoring thorughout the pregnancy. It
is only ended by delivery, so most people
with severe cases are induced earlier in
the pregnancy.
