Q: Chronic Lip Irritation From Braces

My lips have been quite chapped and dry for almost a year now. I assumed it was just normal and would go away... It didn't. Now they are slightly swollen. My doctor says it's irritation from my braces. So i'm getting them removed.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Will my lips go back to normal? It's been so long i've forgotten what normal lips are like.... I'm very depressed about this.
