I stopped taking yasmin 2 months ago.
Have not had a period yet. Have had bad
acne and weight gain since stopping the
pill. The problem is, if I don't have a
period, how can I start my medicine again?
Can I just start it without having a
period? And if so what will happen? Also
, what are common side effects of stopping
the pill after years of use. Are they
like mine? Thanks!

Hi :) yasmin is a great pill for many
women..My cousin gained weight on every
pill, and experienced bloating during her
cycle. Yasmin took that all away, and
even helped her to lose weight. When she
switched pills cuz insurance did not cover
yasmin anymore, she noticed weight gain
ect..So now she buys her yasmin out of
pocket. Long term use of pills do not
cause very many problems for many women,
but because yasmin is so good at helping
with acne and weight gain issues, perhaps
being on the pill is better for you than
not! You can start the pill anytime, even
if you do not have a period. But it must
be taken for 7 days straight to become
effective, unlike a period start where you
are effective immediately.
