I had that happen to me too. I was late and took a few hpts that were all negative. It was quite confusing and frustrrating since I am never late. But I did get my period about 7 days late. I had a great deal of job stress that month and that must have thrown me off. After that episode, I relaxed a bit and I would also suggest that you wait until you are at least 2 weeks late before taking another hpt. You could still be pregnant but your hcg level just might not be high enough yet.
