Hi! I am 35 yrs old. I suffer from rls.
My story is I have had problems for about
4 yrs. My mother suffered from it too.
Not getting enough sleep the pain thrn
started in my arms. I also have
hypothyroidism which appeared after having
my children. So did I develop the rls
from thyroid or pregnancy or
heriditary(lol probably all of the above).
I have always been a very active
person.Nothing seemed to help ie tylenol
muscle relaxers once they wore off I was
up again. Well a miracle happened so I
thought it went away never thought a bout
it again. But no it is back, but good
news I know why!!!About 13 mths ago I
joined a gym and started working out alot.
I go about 3-4 times a week. I walk on
the tredmill, weight train, pilates
classes etc. Didn't realize that the
workouts would have caused it to lay
dormant. Until 3 weeks ago I went on
vacation di not have a chance to weight
train for a week. When we got home all
the fun things start with getting ready
for the holidays (ie. Kids have off from
school etc) did not have achance to get
back to the gym for another week!! Well
the pain started again could not sleep
then comes the crankiness being miserable.
Then I realized it disapeared around the
time I started working out seriously. I
assume it is probably the weight training
I do with my legs and arms that has helped
tremendously. Well I am headed off to the
gym tonight to get back in the groove of
things. I will let you know if it goes
away, and be on my way to many good nights
sleep.
If anyone else has had this experience I
would love to hear from you
