Q: Am I Going Mad?

I have been ill for over three months now.

It started when I lived in a basement appartment the flat upstairs had a leak and it slowly seseepedhrough the ceiling of our bedroom. We reported it to our landlord whom did nothing really until the damp patch grew 3 meters either way. To cut a long story short, after eventually the leak was treated and a dehumidifier was hired the whole family (my partner, my 3 year old and i) came down with sinusitus. It got to the point where I couldn't even go into the house and was homeless for a month (living at partners parents) until we could find somewhere else to live.

I have sufffered from pressure all over my head and face. My eye lids are swollen and face from time to time. I feel as if someone had punched my nose. Swollen glands and eye infections. Panic attack and feeling anxious. 2 trips to a&e and weekly visits to the doctors (i have seen 4 different doctors). I am on my fourth lot of antibiotics. Have started to feel faint and dizzy. I go to bed early on a night, this is the longest I have stayed up for a long time. Now my doctor says I have fluid in my ear which is making me feel sick. I am now waiting to see a specialist at the hospital.

All this is driving me mad. I am normally a very fit and strong person I don't understand how I have become such a wreck and be so weak. I get really depressed and wonder whether I have a tumour or something. I cry at the least little upset.

I'm pretty sure that what's wrong with you and your family. This could very well be that the leak that is in your home has caused mold to grow at a pretty quick rate. All of the symptoms you speak are symptoms of mold... Though you may not be able to see it, it may be contained between where the leak occurred and where it is showing. If I were you I would suggest getting your landlord to have the leak tested because from what i've read, your symptoms are not going to go away, and could very likely get worse.
