Im 17 and 18 weeks I will be having my next altrasound in 2 days, it will be my 4th one o.O

im so lucky I get to see my baby so many times. The frist one was to see how far I was along.

Altrasound 2 was a test I signed up for to see if baby would have anything like spinabifea

atlrasound 3 was not a good one to get. 2 weeks ago I was out side and fell on the ice and landed on my belly so my bf mom took me to the doc. And they had an altrasound done. Thank god baby was ok. Oh and they think its a girl.

Atrasound 4 is on the 21s of dec. Ya 2 days....I should know for sure if its a girl then..

Has anyone else had this many by 18 weeks?

How many have you had and how far along are you?

Not by week 18....But I recently moved to a new country..And every visit my doctor wants to an ultrasound I told her back home I would not get this many ultasounds...But it's their policy here..So I go along with the flow plus it's nice to see her every visit.....I think I have had about 4 so far....

Just a Thought
I am 16 weeks and have had two.
The first for how far along. The second one was due to me changing doctors and she wanted to confirm ( my belly is huge already) the due date.
If your famialiar with the book "what to expect when your expecting" it says that too many ultrasounds may cause your child to be very hyper. This may not be a concern but you might mention to your doctor and see if they concur or think it is non-sense. I feel that if it does have an effect on the baby even just hyper activity perhaps it could be doing something else they just have not linked back to ultrasounds yet.....

I may be just paranoid but I am trying for as few as possible but then again if it is at the request of my doctor you can bet i;m standing in line to do whatever they say!

Ps --- what to expect when your expecting and pregnancy for dummies both were extremely helpful books!

I am 24 weeks and I have had 7 ultrasounds done. I am going back for the 8th!! Next week.

I had to have so many because I had bleeding in the beginning of my pregnancy. The last one was the mandatory check up and... I found out it's a boy!!! Now I am a little worried because the Dr. Said that my tummy didn't measure up this month and he would like me to get another u/s just to make sure everything is ok and if my baby and me are growing accordingly.

20 Weeks And Have Had 5 Ultrasounds Now
I was considered a moderate risk, so at 4 weeks I had one just to make sure I had a sac in the uterus and it wasn't ectopic.
At 6 weeks I had one to make sure the baby had a heartbeat.
At 11 weeks I started bleeding and had one, and then
at 13 weeks had another just to make sure he was still ok.
Just had one today to find out he is really a he!!

Yes it is amazing to see them move around, and then to see what the sex is...This has been the most exciting day of my life I think! Been crying all day like a hormonal fool!! The love for a child before you can even hold them is amazing

Extremely eHealthy
I have had 4 at 20 weeks and I am going for my fifth on 04/04/2006. I am due for one in may and one in june. I will be having my little girl in the 4th week in july and I will have to have one right before I deliver to make sure her lungs are fully developed. So that will make 8. As long as everything goes I will not have anymore than that.

With my son I belive I had like 9 or 10. That was at 24 weeks I had that many. That is why I am having so many to make sure that the baby is is ok because my son was soo sick and they wanted to make sure that my baby isn't sick too. But she is perfect so far.

I didn't know I was pregnant until 10 weeks in, so I had one then. My next will be in two weeks... When i'm at 18 weeks. So, no, I haven't had that many. Lol. But, there haven't been any medical reasons to get any more (thank goodness), and insurance will only pay if it's medically necessary.

Any one know what the chances of an ultrasound being wrong? I'm 18 weeks and had an ultrasound done this afternoon they said its a girl. I go for another ultrsound through my midwife in 2 weeks maybe they might see something different.
