Anemia/ice Chips
It sounds ridiculous. My grandmother used to tell me that chewing on ice would cause diabetes. Also ridiculous.

Actually, chewing on ice could be a result of anemia. It could be a condition called pica. It's really strange. People crave odd things - like ice, dirt, dust, etc.

I am a anemic. I was diagnoised a couple of weeks ago. Before I was diagniosed I craved ice chips. People around me said that I was anemic because this is one of the side effects. I am now on slow fe iron replacement. I still have to have my ice!!

anemic ice eater
I am eating ice right now. It's part of my routine.
I've also lots tons of blood from a fibroid problem I've had since January.
I am almost certain I am anemic -- have developed ALL the symptoms: including the ice eating/craving of ice.
I am masters runner. In the last few months, my pace had dropped dramatically.
My internist this January said I was not anemidc bec. my blood count looked good but that was before the major blood loss.

I'm visiting another doctor this Friday to determine what is going on.

Yes, I believe eating ice is definitely a sign of anemia!!
