Btw -- the "point" is that, while I have skipped inert pills before, it was when I was married at the age of 23, which was many, many moons ago. Things have changed since then, more is known, and ortho tri-cyclen lo is a very new product. If anyone has direct knowledge that will actually help me, I want to know about it. That is the "point in posting." whether or not it looks like i'm going to do it "anyways" is quite irrelevant.

I would highly reccommend talking to your doctor about new birth control if you need more information than a bunch of random people on the internet.

you did come across as being rude and as smarting off. I'm not stupid, and I know that talking to my doctor would have been the best idea -- obviously -- but it was sunday and I needed to start my new pack yesterday. My doctor does not work on sundays, and it was not an emergency, so I asked on a health forum -- where a lot of medical personnel often frequent. It made sense then, it makes sense now. I don't react well to being treated like an fool, which is why I replied as I did. You are obviously extremely young, and definitely not a medical professional, and your remarks came across as rude as condescending.

I needed an informed reply yesterday, and would have felt better if I had received one, but I didn't. I have pmdd and heavy periods and did not want to have to deal with that during this very busy holiday season. I did go ahead and skip the inert pills, since I received no informed reply. No harm done, but I would have felt better if I had heard from someone knowledgeable. Your replies were not knowledgeable, came across as though you assumed I had no brain in my head (i have a master's degree in psychology and an iq of 158, so it rubbed me the wrong way), and were extremely superfluous.

It's over, it's done, and there is no need to continue this. You might want to consider that people you run across on this board are likely to be older and more educated than you are -- and perhaps even ask? -- before you type a reply that assumes that the poster is ignorant and uneducated.

Sorry this is too late because I didn't see your post until now and you've already taken the pill. I just wanted to let you know it's not generally recommended to skip periods with triphasic pills. I don't think it will do any harm--it just might mess up your cycle a little bit. If you're taking monophasic pills, you can safely skip your period for three months in a row.
