Hello, I had a miscarraige and had to have a d&c. I had my d&c on november 2nd. I talked to my gyno about birth control methods. She told me that the pill was just as risky as the patch so it really didn't matter which one I decided to use. I began using the patch app. 3 weeks after my d&c, as directed by my gyno. I began having unprotected sex about 2 1/2 weeks after being on the patch. This is my 4th week while using the orthro evra patch. At first I was very happy because the patch can be very convenient to use. Changing it once a week for three weeks and then taking it off for a week for your period seemed easy. Well this is the week where I have removed the patch so that I can start my period. It says that it could take up to 3 days to start your period. Today is the 3rd day and I have not started yet. The only thing I have gotten is a brown, mucusy discharge for the past 3 days, including today. I have also been experiencing leg and groin pains for the past 2 days, not including today. I was worried about these symptoms, so I called to make an appointment with my gyno. I spoke with a nurse and she told me that the pains in my leg had nothing to do with the patch and that I needed to continue to use the patch whether or not I started my period. What she said contradicts what the orthro evra's website says. I am very worried about my health but I don't know what to do. Are my symptoms normal because of my miscarraige? Or could there be something really wrong with me? Has anyone gotten pregnant while using the patch? Please help if you know anything about the patch. Thanks tons!!
