Alright so I just returned from my 3rd visit from the hospital... I had really bad tremores and they did an 3 mris and found some abnormal brain activites but they still dont know what it is... They also did an eeg and informed me that I had signs of siezures I havent had one that im aware of... Im finding myself staring at people and thats been happening for the last couple of weeks... So now I guess thats my question... When a person is about to have a siezure is that the only time he/she stares?? Because ive heard that when a person is about 2 have a siezure is when they start staring.. And what other symptoms should I look out for?? Thanks

Hi explicit,

people do different things when they're about to seize.
This pre-seizure experience is known as an aura. And not everyone experiences them. Also depends on which type of epilepsy you have.

Some people stare (this could also be an absence seizure and not an aura, auras usually preceed a generalised seizure), some people shout, some start crying, some have a feeling of surrealness or hear sounds or see images.
Do a google search on "epilepsy aura" and see what you get.

Also, you won't always know that you're actually having a seizure.
It mostly depends on the severity of the activity, which part(s) of your brain is affected and if the abnormal activity spreads to other parts of the brain.

Many times my eeg prints showed that I had a couple of seizures during a sessioin. Sometimes I knew about them and sometimes not. Tiny split-second "abnormalities" mostly went unnoticed in my case.

Anyways, best of luck :-)

Hi beingyoume,

my seizures aren't exactly "under control"..

I was also very confused when I started learning about seizures. So many types, so many triggers, so many causes.

Have alook at this page, it's pretty informative and should give you a good idea:
Diagnose-me.Com/

try to read as much as you can on seizures and epilepsy.

One good thing though: the more you learn the more interesting it gets :-)

i have always had a low seizure threshold, since childhood, i'm just prone to having seizures under certain circumstances. It's just the way my brain operates. My mom never dropped me on my head, I had no problems during birth, no illnesses or deseases as a baby or child. The doctors could never tell me or my parents exactly what causes my seizures. Maybe they will never know.

The seizure-free period that I now find myself in, has more to do with my stress-free lyfestyle and healthy eating habbits and daily excercise than it does with medication.

I'm supposed to take 1200mg convulex and 150mg lamictin per day. I don't take that anymore.

If I was to return to the big city and my corporate job (without again taking meds) i'd surely have seizures, guaranteed 100%..

The high-stress lifestyle of the city simply doesn't sit well with my low seizure threshold.

Hi again,

haha, little green online gremlins are conspiring against us :-)

for some strange reason this forum page changes the url somehow.
Anyway, do a google search for "diagnose me condition seizure disorder" and go to the first search result.
