Hi beingyoume,
my seizures aren't exactly "under control"..
I was also very confused when I started learning about seizures. So many types, so many triggers, so many causes.
Have alook at this page, it's pretty informative and should give you a good idea:
Diagnose-me.Com/
try to read as much as you can on seizures and epilepsy.
One good thing though: the more you learn the more interesting it gets :-)
i have always had a low seizure threshold, since childhood, i'm just prone to having seizures under certain circumstances. It's just the way my brain operates. My mom never dropped me on my head, I had no problems during birth, no illnesses or deseases as a baby or child. The doctors could never tell me or my parents exactly what causes my seizures. Maybe they will never know.
The seizure-free period that I now find myself in, has more to do with my stress-free lyfestyle and healthy eating habbits and daily excercise than it does with medication.
I'm supposed to take 1200mg convulex and 150mg lamictin per day. I don't take that anymore.
If I was to return to the big city and my corporate job (without again taking meds) i'd surely have seizures, guaranteed 100%..
The high-stress lifestyle of the city simply doesn't sit well with my low seizure threshold.
