Im just curious...

I am a 28 year old male, I had my first bout with severe anxiety and panic attacks 2 years ago. I went to my md she disgnosed it as g.A.D, gave me a script for clonazepam just to relieve the severe panic when it hit. After a few months (maybe 2-3 months) they disappeared with the exception of a slight lingering anticipatory anxiety which hardly bothered me at all, then the anxiety/panic completely disappeared.
Until a week ago, it came back with vengence, I have had a few severe panic attacks in which I was certain my heart would give out because it just seemed to keep esculating, my heart pounding like crazy and all I could do was splash my face with ice cold water and just hope I wasn't going to die. Insanely scary. Im sure many folks in here can relate.

Though im wondering has anyone felt sort of funny or strange sensations in their head prior to experiencing their attacks? I have wierd mood type feelings, funny sensations in my head.... Anyone relate?

I also have noticed a bit of depressive moods that seem to accompany these bouts of anxiety.

Anyway, all the best to all.

Chris

Strange Head Feelings
Hello chris,
i am a 44 year old male, about 8 months ago whilst driving I got a strange
"warm" feeling in my head. It frightened me and my legs went like jelly and my arms went really heavy. (poss adrenalin rush).
Since then I have had more symptoms like "feeling wierd" as though I am not actually all there and a more or less permanent mild headache.
I am (well I thought I was) the most placid and laid back person and nothing seemed to worry me.
I also get a sickly feeling in my stomach and a watery feeling in my mouth.
I have recently had "balance tests" and an mri scan on my head and neck, everything was normal.
I don't have any mood swings etc but I do think that the thought of having
a strange feeling actually exaggeretes the problem and then the anxiety snowballs.
I have been told that I am probably suffering from anxiety that brings on panic attacks. Possibly things that you think about which you don't think you are worrying about can subconciously cause stress/anxiety.
I feel better just by talking about it, hope you are also feeling better.
Dave.

Thanks Dave
Thanks dave for the reply.

The mind can make you pretty messed up at times, sometimes panic attacks build up and cause you to think something is dangerously wrong with your brain... They are scary. For me they come and go. I really hate though, as they seem to bring along with them low moods which are in themselves no fun.
Anyway I work through it...
You take care, thanks again!
Chris

Hi, yes, a couple of years ago I have a full blown out panic attack just about every day of the week. For some reason our bodies take what is called the "fight or flight" response. If you could imagine getting into your car in the morning and looking over your seat to find a man with a gun pointing it at you and he is fixing to pull the trigger, then your body reacts to this in all kinds of ways. The main way is the heart beat getting out of control along with the urge to run or "take flight".. With gad patients ( like you and myself) the response is brought on without no cause ( the guy with the gun is not there but our brain believes he is)... All sensations can be uncomfortable and sometimes fool us into thinking we have something physically wrong w/ us , when in fact we do not. I recommend zoloft, but I would talk to your doc too. I took zolof for two years and my panic attacks are gone. Good luck

Panic Attacks
Im 30 years old .Hi,yes I can relate to the wierd sensations in the head, like you are out of your body and not there. Feels like all is closing around you. Then my heart starts pounding fast, and I just have to get out of wherever I am at the time. Its horrable. But we can get through this. But how??

Strange Feelings/anxiety
Hello everybody,
does anybody on this forum with strange feelings in their head and/ or been diagnosed with anxiety also had or have gastric or digestion problems?
The reason I am asking is that I have spoken to a number of people who have had various diagnosis for anxiety/stress etc and it turned out to be gallbladder/gallstone problems in the end.
Awaiting replies with interest.
Dave.
