Q: This Is Real Hard For Me...

Me and my boyfriend have never had full-on sex and don't really plan on doing so till we are fully ready. We have experimented such as dry sex but it did get carried away as he kept just thin underwear on whereas I didn't have anything on. We performed dry sex many times as he lives away from me and when we are together he has to stay in our spare room for the weekend.
My period was due on the 7th of this month. It's now the 14th. Is it too early to take a test? I felt very ill today and I have no idea whether my symptoms match up to any relating to pregnancy.
I hope you can help me,
thanks,
suzanne.

I've had similar scares plenty of times before. Unless your boyfriend's underwear were loaded with semen and it got on you, you have nothing to worry about. If you've been stressing like mad that you're pregnant, i'll bet that the stress is what has made you late on your period.

If you are still genuinely worried about pregnancy, it isn't too early to test - there are tests which can be taken when your period is only 1 day late. I tihnk you should just take a test so your mind will be at ease.

As far as your feelings of sickness, can you be more specific? Like are you feeling nautious, tired, feverish, or just plain sick? For all you know, you might have gotten the flu or some other ailment that goes around this time of the year.

Thanks for replying cambion,
my symptoms are things such as high bodily temperature, the odd pain in my lower stomach, headaches, going to the toilet a lot. I really hope I am not pregnant. The heat of the moment is such a difficult thing - you either do it and worry about the consequences or say no and temporerily regret it and move on.
Soon after my weekend with my boyfriend, I bought extra safe condoms for the next time - just incase the moment arose.
I am not really a girl who goes 'oh my gosh, can I be pregnant from this, this and this' it's just that we did this many a time on the weekend - may be around 10 times but we thought it would be of no harm really, I did read online that sperm can swim through thin clothing - that's when I began to panic .
All we really was doing was practising positions and getting used to it for the real thing.
I have spoken to my elder brother about this - he is very close to me and he suggests buying a test when I see him on saturday if no period has arrived.
Are pregnancy tests really that reliable? I have just read on here that so many people get negative but then find out they are.

Thanks.

Normally preg tests work pretty good. I took the first responce one with all my pregnancys and it was always right. With the first responce you can take it 3 days before your peroid is even due, so it's not to soon.

This morning, I found two lines of blood. I thought it was a great sign to show that I am not pregnant. I checked to see if there was anymore blood in my vagina to find out there wasn't. I wore a tampon all day today and removed it when I returned home and still no blood. Over the 5 years that I have had my periods, I have never experienced this...

Any knowledge?

How old are you if I may ask? I kind of sounded like a juvenile question. You are not preggo. No matter how bad you wanna be.

i don't understand? How do you know that I am not pregnant? I had to take time off school today as I am so ill. A raging headache, aching legs, lower back, sore throat, blocked nose, very high temperature, dizzyness, sore and enlarged breasts. My period is 9 days late, the two lines of blood may be a sign of implantation. Sure I may have the flu but how can you generally condemn the fact that I may be pregnant? I am 16 in three months.

It's really doubtful that your are pregnant. First off you never even had sex with the guy, I guess there might be a slim chance that you are, but that would mean that somehow you got pregnant without having intercourse (extremely unlikly). Take a preg test that will tell you for sure, pretty much any test will tell you after 9 day of being late. There are alot of other things that could cause thoes symptoms that are more liking than some super sprem somehow going through clothing and still managing to make it to an egg inside of you. I would say there is a small chance of you being pregnant (very small), but more than likely you have the flu or maybe even growing pains.

I hope that it turns out negative. I've been in the same situation and I was fine. I stressed myself out so much that I thought I was preg (and my bf and I are both virgins like you and yours). It made me feel sick. I took 2 preg tests and 2 periods to convince myself I was ok. But i'm sure that you're fine. Pm me if you ever want to talk!

Hello everyone,
i plucked up the courage to buy a clear blue digital pregnancy test containing 3 tests. The first one was negative!!! The second one was also negative. This has made my christmas. This still does not explain my missing period. I will keep waiting anyway.
Smiles all round,
suzanne

See what we all told you! :d congratulations! Stress could be delaying your period. If it's still not around you may want to schedule an appt. A Dr. Should be able to help you and tell you why it's late rather then us
