I don't eat much... And for a long time,
I was afraid to eat in front of people or
in public. I'm completely over that fear
now... But i've always thought (and still
think) that i'm fat... I was weighed at
the doctor's last week. (i'm 5'6) and I
was 126.5 lbs.
I haven't really eaten anything since
around tuesday night... Like, i've been
drinking water... And I had some rice the
other day... And some toast another
day... But I just don't feel hungry...
Like, part of me feels like it should be
hungry... But in my mind, I don't want to
eat... It feels like a weakness if I
eat... So I try to distract myself and
fight it until I physically can't
anymore...
How long does it take to lose weight if
you don't eat? ...Or how long can your
body go without food before bad things
start to happen? ...I am so confused and
scared.
I've had some stressful things going on in
my life lately... Could this be the cause
of my sudden lack of hunger? I was okay
for a while... (i've had eating problems
on and off for years... Never diagnosed,
but I know about them myself)
but I just don't want to eat!
...Yesterday I ended up having some take
out someone bought... It wasn't even that
much, probably a regular proportioned
meal... But afterwards I just felt really
sick and threw up.
Can someone help me? Talk to me? Give me
advice?
My aim is chyld of faete
if you can help, please answer.

Kutekittychel it sounds like you have a
problem and you know about it too. I
think it is a good sign that you see you
have a problem. Stressful situations can
absolutely cause your eating to go crazy
especially if u already have had eating
problems. You have to eat or else you
will die. No one can say how long that
will take. Hope I can talk to you more.
Take care.

It Is Better to Get This Under Control Now Posted: 12-16-05 17:46pm
First off, it is a myth that anorexics
don't eat at all and that most only eat a
couple hundred calories a day. While
some might be this extreme, they usually
are hospitalized within a short period of
time.
They might not officially digasnose you
with anorexic because you aren't
underweight and have not lost weight
rapidly. That doesn't mean that you
don't have a problem.
I also have problems eating when stressed.
I think that is one thing that makes us
vunerable to anorexia. While others have
a tendency to eat more during stress, we
eat less or not at all. You should try
to eat anyway when you can. You might
want to seek help also for both your
anxiety and eating problems.
It is better that you get this problem
under control now. You don't want
anorexia. The longer you are anorexic,
more control it takes over you.
As for how long does it take for something
bad to happen, it depends on the
individual. Some people have bad thing
happen to them in less than a day. In
under a week, your metal function will be
impaired. As far as your organs, it
depends on their condition in the first
place and your nutrient reserves, but you
will have severe problems probably
resulting in an emergency event in less
than a month. Why do you want to take
that risk though?
