Caffeine in moderation is fine. Like 1 coke or coffee a day.

Think like this u weight x amount of pounds and how does caffeine affect u? Now think if u weighed less than a pound what it does. Not that all the coke goes straight to the baby (studies have been able to determine how much) you should limit yourself to 2 a day. Aanother reason not to drink it is caffeine acts as a diuretic drawing fluids and calcium from your body, it also affects your iron intake (a really big deal when u are pregnant cuz the amount of irn u ahve is what helps you stop bleeding after giving birth and you wouldnt want to loose to much blood) plus since u already have crazy hormone issues (or will) caffeine helps increase normal mood swings (u might not b to much fun to be around) all this came from what to expect when u are expecting a book u really need if u are pregnant.

I dont drink coffee but I do drink pepsi

I didnt drink pepsi very much until last three weeks (im 32 wks) but im so exhausted and I already have a daughter that I need that extra wake up and im sleeping 8-12hrs a day.....

Honestly everything during pregnancy is in moderation even when ur not prego as for vitamins dont worry about them not hitting ur system completely. What alot of people dont know is that when you drink milk it coats ur stomach and doesnt ingest a vitamin completly thats why you take ur vitamin first and then food and stuff after ur dr will tell u if u need extra iron....Im anemic and for some reason during my pregnancys my iron level shoots up the roof even without vitamins I dont take prenatal I just take childrens vitamins after choking on a vitamin and forcing myself to puke it up wasnt fun......

Take care if ever u have questions ask the dr or get the book what to expect while expecting!!

From "eating expectantly" by bridget swinney:
"heavy caffeine consumption of 300 milligrams per day has been shown to cause small reductions in birth weight...Several studies have also suggested an association between caffeine and miscarriage."

a 12 oz coke has 31 mg, mountain dew has the most with 55 mg. Coffee has anywhere from 95mg (instant coffee) to 200 mg (starbucks drip). There is caffeine in tea, even snapple iced tea (48mg in 16 oz). There are small amounts of caffeine in hot cocoa, chocolate, and most anything coffee flavored (pudding, yogurt, ice cream).

The point is, just watch how much caffeine you take in because it adds up! :)

My doctor told me avoiding caffeine altogether is best while pregnant. It's not good for your body whether pregnant or not, but we all love it haha

maybe you got lucky, but thats no reason to tell everyone to go for it, lots of caffine is bad for you regardless if your pregnant or not.

Maybe he is a lot of that "stuff" but you just dont see it because your his mother? Or maybe he is just too young to show signs.

Get educated on these things before you tell people to "go for it"

That's why I was asking about her sons age.

I drank pop while pregnant and brian has adhd and my youngest, jordan, has developmental delays.

I dont think she meant "go for it" as in....Yah! Go drink as much caffiene as you possibly can! I think as long as you watch yourself..You are ok.
I was told one coffee or one soda (with caffiene) was ok.
