i was searching for answers on my injured
knee and stumbled upon this site, and
figured i'd ask and see if I got an
answer....
Starting at the age of 15 I started
running. Cross country during
highschool, and then running for exercise
in college. I'm now 23, and after taking
about 2 years off, I decided to pick it up
again. Due to the weather and temp, I
was running on the treadmill. About 1.5
weeks into my new routine of about 4 days
a week, 30min. Each time, I injured my
knee. Started running and about 10 min.
Into I started to feel a dull pain in the
top of my knee cap. As it became more of
a sharper pain, I stopped. Once I
stopped running there was no pain so I
thought nothing of it for the rest of the
day. Well the next day my knee was sore,
and has been since. Always achey, and
when I move it in weird ways, I get a
pulling or stabbing sensation in the top
of my knee cap. I went to see a doctor
and he said if it didn't go away in a
couple of weeks, that I would need and
mri. Well it has been 4 weeks and the
pain hasn't gotten worse, but hasn't gone
away. I'm going for an mri, but I have
to wait for my insurance to kick in
(currently switching jobs). So did I
tear something or just sprained or
strained it? I'm worried that I may of
really screwed up my knee...Or it just
needs to heal. Anyone have any opinion?
Thanks!
