Q: Cramping During Intercourse

A little background. I'm a 19yr old male with only one partener who I lost my virginity to 3 years ago. Sex has been great through the years until recently.

Within the last 3-4 months, I get intense cramping in my pelvic region during intercourse. At first i'm fine, but after a few minutes I feel it tightening and its soon almost too painful to walk for a short time. I've searched the internet over for anybody else with the same problem, but anytime I key in 'cramps,' women's sites flood the browser.

Masturbation and oral sex doesn't cause the cramping, just prolonged intercourse. The pain is in the area above the base of my penis below the waistline. I've wondered if the cramping is caused from me holding off orgasm and it stressing a muscle or something.

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. There is no rashing, leaking, burning, etc that would lead me to believe its an std.

Thanks.

Is it only when you're in a certain position, or whenever you're having intercourse? How is it that you are "holding off orgasm?"

I believe it happens in any position if i'm trying to last.

As far as holding off orgasm, nothing unusual. Just slowing down or stopping in short bursts in order to let the urge ebb. Though, any guy knows that when you're trying to hold off, your testicles pull up close to the base of your penis and utilize some muscle in the area. I'm guessing thats where the cramping is from.

It use to never happen which is why i'm wondering what's up. Could I possible have pulled something awhile back and everytime I have sex, it aggrivates it again?

Thanks!

I'm thinking it's a muscle thing. Does it only happen when you slow down, or just after you've gone at it for a while?

After anywhere from 3-15 minutes depending on how slow or fast i'm going I can feel the cramp build. My muscle tightens and eventually cramps and doesn't let off until I rest for a bit.

Somebody suggested it may be a problem regarding imflammed prostate - think there is any truth to that?

Maybe, but I kinda doubt that there is an corelation. I'm thinking it's like tension in your muscles there; kind of like when you're sitting in a crouched area and get a "charley-horse" in your leg. The only thing I can think of that might help, is to loosen up, and don't be tense, just remained relaxed. It could also be a nerve that gets pressed on when you're in that position that causes the pain. If you're still concerned about it, you might want to visit your doctor.
