I did two cycles on day 5 evening. Had one egg each time this last time I did it very early day 4 after doing reading and had two mature eggs. From what I read if you do it sooner then there is more of a chance to get a mature folical. On this last cycle, still have a week to go, on the ultrasound we could actually see the egg within the folical and could see that sometime soon that egg was going to rupture from the shape. Took hcg anyway to know when it would pop and get the second one to pop as well. One was 19 and the other 20mm, very mature. This time I was also put on preventative care in case I did become pregnant and prevent an early miscarrage with progesterone. Never knew there were so many options to have progesterone. A gel, man made supository, pills and the injectable. First two are vaginal twice a day, pills three times a day and the injectable once a day, with costs varying from $400 to $200 to $50. Insurance covers injectables as an off brand, pills only as a brand name and the vaginal options were not covered. So I opted for the injectable $16 under the insurance plan for 20 day supply. Granted some shots hurt and bruise badly but so far I have been able to use one thigh to inject into. Saving my other thigh for next month, pending it is a bf .
My aunt who also took clomid 17 years ago took 50mg the first time, first month, and had twins who are now about to graduate high school. And followed up with same dose two months trying had a son and again tried this time 4 months and had another son.
Best wishes with clomid working.
