Hi, i'm very concerned about my husband, he has had these symptoms for about 4 months & the doctor has run all the usual tests (x-ray, blood tests etc) and says it's down to panic attacks but I am not convinced. It sounds like a vague, generic diagnosis by a lazy doctor....
1. Tight chest - feels like someone is pushing down on his chest constantly, a dull pain.
2. Upper left chest up to the shoulder is slightly swollen (hard - not soft or squishy)
3. When he falls asleep, sometimes he will wake up with a start, and his face is totally white with red around his eyes and nostrils for about 15secs. He says he wakes up because he realises he is not breathing!!
4. Sometimes has a dull pain in his left side, as though it is a bruised rib
5. These symptoms are not affected by exercise - he exercises at the gym (x-trainer, jogging) about 4 times a week, moderately. He is very fit, 6'2", 180lbs. 37 y.O. Non-smoker, seldomly drinks alcohol. V. Healthy diet.
Any comments / advice greatly appreciated!! Thanks, cristie.
