Two Lines One Dark One Really Light? (Page 3)

hi lisa here i took 2 tests last week and they both had 1 dark pink line and 1 light pink line then thursday this week i started to bleed but that was only very light and a pink colour so today i went to the accident unit to get myself checked out and they did a pregnancy test and the doctor said i was not pregnant. i pointed out to him that there was 2 pink lines on there 2 tests 1 light and one dark pink and he said that he didnt notice that and went to test my urine on a machine so he said and that was a negative. i have a strange taste for brown sauce and mustard together both of which i cannot stand.my own instincts tell me that i am but iam very conffused now. help please. lisa

Perhaps you should see another doctor. Also ask them to do a QUANTITATIVE HCG count from a blood draw. This will tell them HOW MUCH HCG (if any) is in your system. Anything above 5 is considered pregnant.

thank you pomlover i have another dillemma though i did another test on wed and both lines were really dark pink and i am still blrrding loke a pink colour and had a few clots today not really bad but still worried took a urine sample to the docs this morning because i eventually got a response from the trauma nurse there so took it up and will know the proper results tommorow and hopefully they can helpme with the other problem but i have had no pain whatesoever just a bit of stich so fingers crossed they might get me sorted only been bleeding for 7 days today and that happens guess i must demand a scan from them hey? thanks from lisa ps any advise you can give me please about the clots and blood? lisa

If you are getting two lines then you are pregnant. Period. If you are bleeding it is likely implantation bleeding which is possible to include clots as they can form inside the uterus. Many women bleed during pregnancy and go on to deliver a healthy baby. Your doctor should take a blood test to get your HCG level and then take another blood sample in 2 or 3 days to make sure they are increasing properly.

hi pomlover been to the early pregnancy unit today and had urine test and a hcg blood test i have got to ring up tommorow to see if it is high enough to have a scan and the urine test says pregnant so i will let you know tommorow. lisa xxx

As I've said previously, ANY second line is a POSITIVE result. The chemicals on the lines are different, obviously, that is why one is the control line (always comes up) and one is a test line (only comes up if HCG is present). YOU ARE PREGNANT. See your doctor for prenatal care ASAP.

hi everyone i took a test ( clear blue ) and it gave me the (+) and a (|) sign which means im pregnant after reading the directions , so to double check i took 2 more using the same test (clear blue) but this time i use a digital one and they both say im not pregnant... what does this mean? and yes i missed my period.. can anyone help me?

Check what the amount of HCG measured on the tests are. One may be a lower HCG and you may not be high enough to test positive on the higher test.

HAY I TOOK A PREGNACY TESY THIS MORNING AS SOON AS I WOKE UP AND IT CAME POSSITIVE I GOT ONE DARK LINE AND ONE VERY VERY LIGHT AM I GOING TO BE A MOTHER?

I took a test and hour ago an it said negative but one line was very light neg. Sign the the other was very dark blue will someone tell me what I should do or what that could mean??? The test was one of those that can tell u 5 days before your missed period...

Take a new test. It should definitely read positive by now.

Yes. ANY second line, even faint, is a positive! See your doctor immediately, you need prenatal vitamins! At this point you should be showing.

Um, yes you have. You haven't had a period in 3 months. That's a huge symptom. When I was pregnant my only symptom aside from no period was enlarged breasts. GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!!! Even if you aren't pregnant (which you ARE pregnant if you had 2 lines on your test), there is something wrong with you if you haven't had a period in 3 months.

A POSITIVE test and missing your period are symptoms! You do not need to have morning sickness or other symptoms to be pregnant. I had ZERO symptoms when I was pregnant other than missing my period and my boobs being larger than normal. You are harming your baby by not seeing a doctor! You had a positive test and you missed your period. YOU ARE PREGNANT. I don't know how many other ways to tell you. There is a baby growing in your uterus. SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!

she just said u don't always show symptoms, my mother had 5 children and didn't have ANY symptoms AT ALL! - since u have a POSITIVE test and NO period GO to ur doctor...

Those who took the clearblue digital, and the test that only does the lines. I had a chemical pregnancy in April, and the doctor said my hcg was only a 4, so I know it wouldn't take very long for it to be completely gone. I took a clear blue test that was digital and it said not pregnant. but the one that is not digital was a dark line, and a very faint line. I know that means pregnant, because this happened to me when I was pregnant with my two year old son. I had a chemical pregnancy and then I got pregnant with him, and I got the same results with him. I think the digital one requires more hcg, so that's why your result may be like that. I hope this helps.

The LOWEST HCG that is detected by ANY pregnancy test is 25. The only way you could know yours was a 4 is with a quantitative blood draw and anything below 5 is considered not pregnant. If this was the ONLY test you had done there was no reason for your doctor to tell you that you were pregnant, as like I said, anything below 5 is not considered pregnant. A very faint line could happen from letting a test sit too long, it's called an evap line.

I took a test in one of my medical classes and I got a positive test, and then I bought another test and it was positive. I started bleeding two weeks later, so I went to the hospital, and that is when they took my blood to check my level of hcg. The doctor told me I was pregnant, but it was a chemical pregnancy. So, yes I was pregnant. Now I took four test, and all of the ones that weren't digital came out positive, with a very faint line. I didn't wait ten minutes and then looked at them. It came up like that in three minutes. The same thing happen with my son, when I was pregnant with him. I had a chemical pregnancy, and then I got pregnant right aftet. Because you're really fertile after having a chemical pregnancy. I will be going to the doctors very soon, so they can do blood and a urine test.

Ah okay, so your doctor said your pregnancy was chemical because he knew you had positive tests. That makes sense. Had you never taken those tests to get a positive result, he wouldn't have told you that you had been pregnant. Congrats on the new positive. Hope it sticks! Best of luck!

I have started my period tuesday took a test and showed one faint and one dark line was advised to take another test so did next day and same results but this time dark line and visible faint line I come of thursday so very unusual as bleed normally 5-7 days but this period very light whats this mean confused?
