Hi I was diagnosed with a varicocele by my gp after having an ultrasound.
Yesterday I went to a urologist, finally. He told me that I probably don't need an operation. The problem is I am in a lot of pain, ususally when I lift anytjing heavy or try playing soccer or hockey.
Through research I assumed thier is an opperation to fix the problem but the impression I got from the urologist is I have to live with this. He is sending me for another ultrasound at ubc however,to find out if it is what is cuasing the pain. I am 41 and live in the "outdoor recreation capital of canada" and do not want to give up my active, albeit on hiatus, lifestyle.

Any thoughts
