I'm sorry everyone, but I have to vent a little. I read a couple of posts about people who didnt know what to do, and in every post I read people only considered 2 options. Then an older post I read one girl was saying her mother was going to force her to do adoption (which you can't), and some people told her in more or less words that adoption was a negative way to go. I want to know why people think that???? There are more than two options there are actually four options available to people now a days.

1) parent the baby
2)abortion
3) open adoption (private adoption)
4) closed adoption (government adoption)

why in the heck do people go the route of abortion??? Now I ask this from experience, because I got pregnant at 15 years old, and I didn't have the means to support a baby. So I instantly thought of abortion (which I am 100% against), but sitting talking to an old friend she began to talk to me about adoption after that I was curious about it. So I learned alot about open adoption, closed adoption, government adoption and private adoption. I realized there is more options available than people think. And each one has different negatives and positives.

I would also like to say that adoption isnt a bad thing. Yes it is hard, but its a lot better than not giving the baby all that he/she deserves. Especially when you know you can't do it (not saying all young girls cant do it). Personally I went the open adoption route when I was 15. I still see her and she knows who I am, and the best part is I helped a couple who couldnt conceive and had been trying for almost 10 years.

Im not promoting adoption or anything, but it frustrates me that alot of people don't consider it.

Everyone is entitled to there opinions, and I know some people are pro-life and pro choice, but I am not either of those.

Sorry for the vent everyone..Probably just cause I am pregnant and I can't stand the thought of abortion. So thanks for reading my post :p

nevyn due april 15th, 2006 :)

People go for abortion in cases of rape, or when they can't carry the pregnancy for fear, when they are victims of domestic violence, when they don't want some stranger to bring up their child, but can't offer the child stability and security

The point of an open adoption is you interview potential parents and you see your chile regularly you get to know them before they raise your child so they arent strangers. And I think if you have a fear of pregnancy maybe u are to young to b having sex and in the case of rape its still you choice but u gotta think that baby didnt rape you it did nothing. Babies have heart beats after 18 days. They are ppl to

I mean fear as in fear for your life, fear for your childs well-being, fear of abuse and violence.

Young people having abortions often did not get pregnant through consentual sex.

There are many reasons to abort and I would rather some one abort than add another child to the statistics of neglect and abuse.

No, the baby didn't rape you but every time you felt that child move, every time you looked in it's eyes you are going to be remnded of the terrible act, you will always see your rapist. There is on-going evidence that the part of the mind that leads people to do these despicable acts can be apssed onto offspring - regardless of environmental upbringing.

A very large number of people having sex are "technically" too young to be having sex but that really isn't going to stop them, which is why I would like to see contraceptives made more easily available to young people and far advanced sex education is schools and collages.

As, for myself, pregnancy would be most welcome and I can assure that at almost 27 years I am definately "old enough" to be having sex.
