I am 7 weeks pregnant and sometimes I wonder if the position I sleep is the correct position. Is there a way to sleep that will make cramps go away? Sometimes I feel that I need to stretch, but if I stretch out too much I am worried that it will effect the cramps. Recently, I have found that I am not sleeping so well because I get up to go restroom more often than usual. Now I feel that my belly is full of gas and bubbly. Can anyone tell me if there is a comfortable sleeping position? This is our first pregnancy and I am a scared that what I do will effect everything! Please advise me.
Well I am now 18wks pregnanrt and I fine sleeping on my side witg a pillow under my belly really helps with me sleeping and with the cramps... Lol I know how it is geting up all night and going to the bath room...At one point I was geting up every 15 mins, wasnt easy sleeping then.
Can you explain what your cramps feel like? I am somewhere between 5-8 weeks pregnant and I have had period like cramps since the week before I found out ( about 2 weeks), no bleeding, and they arnt horrible, but uncomfortble and annoying. Sometimes they are like period cramps, sometimes they are sharp, and they are in the very lower part of my abdomen.I have my first ob appt tommorrow, but every little owie worries me since this is my first pregnancy!
I had those for like 5 weeks past ovulation---7 weeks pregnant, every day all day long. Sometimes they hurt so much, and so long it would make me feel sick. Then one day they just quit.
What happens is this, the ovary after expelling the egg, it releases hormones to sustain the pregnancy until placenta is developed enough to take over. Then placenta releases hormones to sustain the pregnancy.
I said it quit hurting in me at 5 weeks past ovulation--i know it was my ovary's giving me pains-- my last pregnancy 20 years ago I had a little pain in the same spot for the whole pregnancy--i think he was just telling me he was there.
I believe it was the hormone releasing that was causing my pain--i dont know if that is all you are feeling or not. The placenta starts to take over then, it is not completely developed until I think something like almost 20 weeks.
It could definately be one of those things that are different for different pple. I know I was 7 weeks and it stopped--and I know the pain I experienced was my ovarys. Not anything else. Some women also experience stretching pains from their uterus and ligamints pains
it will be okay I promise. As long as it is not really hard pains, with very heavy bleeding you are okay. I hope it gets better soon.
Remember back in the day when if a woman didn't want to be pregnant she'd try all sorts of horrible things to get rid of it? Like take a bumpy carriage ride, or punch herself in the tummy. Yikes! And even then if the little one was in there good enough there was no getting rid of it.
I'm only 7 weeks along but I have a large family so been around pregnant women lots! Trust me your sleeping position won't harm the baby. And after a while you won't be able to lay in a position that harms him/her. You'll just have to roll around until you get to a position the baby wants!
So funny you're having the same problem I am with the cramping getting worse a night.
