Q: I Really Think Im Pregnant, My Tests Were Neg Though

Alright..It's long but I need help...I will fill you in on some details. My regular period ended around august 31st, 2005. Then all of september I didn't get my period. My period has been regular for a while because I stopped taking birth control in jan of 2005. Stupid, I know, and my boyfriend of 2 years and I always have unprotected sex. There is a big possibility that I may be pregnant- maybe pre cum but also because sperm has gotten on me- around that area when he pulls out and it may have "swam" up into me. I am not sure. So I figured october it would come in the begining of the month but it came at the end, it ended around oct.31 or nov. 1st...But it was not a long as usual and lighter.

Then in november I had no period except on the 16th I had what I thought was "spotting" light pink/brown but it was only for one day. I sort of brushed it off and figured my period will come within the next week.

I started feeling crampy and just all around groggy and tired. I kept it to myself that I thought I may be pregnant. I realized around the 16th I was bloated that is why I thought I was getting my period.

Now its dec. And I still am bloated there is sort of a hard bulge around my lower abdomen, where my hips are, not any fat or anything like normal bloating, either.

Occasionally I feel hungry, but no cravings. I have taken 2 hpt they were neg. And the doctors said neg. As well....My boobs feel fuller, bigger and sometiems hurt but like period hurt, nothing bad..My back hurts occasionally

and I jsut all around feel pregnant.

Im 18 and don't usually keep track of how long my cycle is its about every 30-35 days I think. But my period is late. I eat fine, and I wasn't thinking about this until late in november...

Could it be ectopic pregnancy? I get cramps but also sharp pains mainly on the right side lower abdomen.

I have white discharge...Could it be pid? Or a cyst??

Please help, I feel foolish and frustrated but should I get bloodwork done? All my tests are neg???!!!

Please respond soon. Or email me!!

If you are that worried I would suggest getting the bloodwork done. I know alot of girls who always read negative witht he pee tests, and then showed positive with blood work. Best of luck to you :)

I think I am but the tests and doctors said I wasn't. Will they just give me bloodwork if I ask...?

Could it just be really late? Its not normal to be this late though for me or anyone anyways so I could have an inflamation and/or a infection?

I have an appt. Friday so I guess ill ask for the works and get birth control as well if im not...Its so frustrating wating though. I eitehr want to be pregnant or have my period already.

Has this same thing happened to anyone on here?

I hope seeing the doctor makes you feel better. They should be able to tell you what is causing the delay. And I am pretty sure you can ask your doctor for the bloodwork. Just tell them your concerns, and hopefully they will do the bloodwork. Like I said pee tests don't work for everyone. I hope the outcome is what you want :)

Sometimes, getting off of birthcontrol can really mess up your cycle.

Go talk to your doctor. My friend from another site thought she was pregnant, she took a hpt and it was negative. She took a few more, and they were negative. She went to the doctor, the test was negative. She had a cyst on her ovaries and it was screwing up her cycle.

As others have said, you period could be late for any number of reasons. Stopping birth control can mess up your cycles. Also, you stressing a lot about whether you could be pregnant can make you miss your period. As far as the pain you're feeling, I would be most concerned about that. If the pain is very bad, it may be an ovarian problem, perhaps cysts. Ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease, and endometriosis, are just a few of the ailments of the female reproductive system that can really mess your cycles up.

But it's in your best interests to get yourself checked out. In the event that it is an ectopic pregnancy, you absolutely do not want to wait on it. If you let an ectopic pregnancy continue for around 8-10 weeks after conception, the fallopian tube can burst, and this can be fatal.

The home pregnancy tests are not always accurate - false negatives are quite common, even though the box may say it will give a correct reading 99% of the time or what-not. Blood tests do not lie - speak with your doctor and insist they do bloodwork. This way, you will know for sure. If you find out you're not pregnant, you seriously should talk to your doctor about the pain in your abdomen.
