Hi, im new to this forum. Recently I found out I was pregnant. I just turned sixteen years old. In the state of maryland do you need parental notification to have an abortion? Thanks..

I'm not sure, but if you age going to get an abortion please do a search on abortions on yahoo or google to get all the pros and cons.

In maryland u need a parental notification- but it can be bypassed by a doctor

im pretty sure thats the site, it lets u know of all the states in which you need a consent, to notify or neither.

Why not talk to your parents, after they get over the shock they will probably understand more than what you think, after all nobody is perfect.
You might want to take this to the abortion forum!

Well, after alot of thinking I set up an appointment this weekend for a local anesthesia surgical abortion where as they insert anesthesia in your cervix through a needle and basically as they said `vaccum` the embryo out. This decision was the best for my situation which I perfer not to explain the whole thing, but has anyone ever had an surgical abortion through local anesthesia? Was there any pain through the process or afterwards? My doctor says when they use the `vaccum` it basically hurts a little bit more than an ordinary menstrual cramp. Im really nervous about this and im sure this will have a greater impact on me later in life.
