I've been on the pill for about 5 years now, for my periods and to clean up my skin. The name of it is dianette.

I've never ever bothered to take it properly at the same time everyday. I've been really bad with that, and remembering when I stopped taking it, and when I should start taking it again.

Will that affect how well it works now that I am considering using it as birth control as well. How long should I be taking it at a regular time before it works as birth control?

Oh and while i'm here, should I be taking the pill in the same hour? Half hour? Or minute of everyday?

Also, I have a really odd sleeping pattern, will this affect it at all?

Thanks a lot!
