I want to have mine taken out for that reason too, but i'm scared to have it taken out, because it hurt putting it in lol. But as for your question from what I have heard you should be able to get pregnant as soon as you have it taken out. Have you been trying?

Hey amber,
thanks for the reply. When I had my iud removed, it was during my cycle. I didn't have any complications and it didn't hurt at all. My gyno told me that was the best time to have it removed. I thought it was gross, but I decided to take his advice and go for it.
We have been trying but its only been a month, so nothing has happened yet. My period was 4 days late this month, so I thought maybe I was pregnant, but 2 pregnancy test showed negative. But I have since started and now I know i'm not.
How long have you had yours?? Do you already have kids??
Bye :d

I had 2 kids before I got the iud. I hve had my iud for about 3 years. You really should be able to get pregnant as soon as it's taken out. It could just be your body, sometimes it can take a while. My sister has been trying for a year and finally got pregnant, I think it really depends on how fertal you are at the moment. Mayeb try and pick up an ovulation test, it will tell you when your best chances are to get pregnant. Just cerous did it hurt you when you first had the iud put in? I think it's when they clamp onto your cervix that really hurts me.
