Seasonale isn't much different than any of the other monophasic pills. The difference is in the packaging. It comes in a package of 12 weeks worth of active pills and 1 week of inactive pills, so you have your period every 3 months. You can use other types of monophasic pills the same way. You just skip the inactive pills and start right away on the next pack of active pills. The only thing is, you might have a problem with your insurance coverage, because you'll have to refill your prescription earlier than you ordinarily would because you're skipping the inactive pills. So seasonale is worth a try because of the convenience of the packaging, but if you don't like it, you have other options.

Seasonale
I have been on seasonale for almost 1 full month now. I experienced almost 3 weeks of bleeding and now for the past week and a half I am having spotting on and off. I have read that this is a normal reaction. That your body needs to get use to the hormones and this will happen for at least the first 3 months. I hope it is worth it because the reason I got on this was not to have a period for 3 months not to be on my period for 3 months!!

Also I have heard that this birth control is pretty expensive. My first pack was a free sample so I do not know how much it is going to be.
