Okay.. So everybody keeps asking me are
you going to breast fee dor bottle feed
your baby.. I am only 5 months and it is
my first.. The idea of breastfeeding just
doenst appeal to me.. I am young.. I am
just turned 18.. And dont want to have to
pull my boob outta my shirt all the time
or go in private to feed my baby..It would
be much more conveniant for me to just
have abottle I could give anytime... My
bf wants me to breastfeed.. I know
nothing about this really...
If I chose to breast feed cuz I just use a
breast pump and give my baby bottles?
If I cant just always do that, could I
breast feed and then switch to formula?
When could I do this? I dont wanna
breastfeed too long.
Are my breasts always going to hurt?
Right now my breasts seem very..Dry I
guess u could say.. And nipples almost
seem like they are cracking and a while
back I had wat looked like a blister
there, which then started bleeding, what
could that be??
Ne thing else I should know? Any opinions

I breast fed all my children. I was 19
with my first, and knew nothing, had a lot
of pain, and ended up getting very bad
infection. My second and third my
nipples were hardened up and not so much
pain, by the third I could turn my milk
off on que.
I have heard something about squeezing
them now to make them ready for breast
feeding--i would look it up on the
internet if I were you.
You can breast and bottle feed, but some
baby's after going to bottle really dont
care so much for nipple anymore. Some it
works with just fine to do both.
I would suggest atleast 3 months of
breastfeeding--that is what I did--then
you take one feeding off at a time, once
every three days--or something like that
until you wean them all the way to the
bottle.
Breast pump hurt me more than
breastfeeding--but others might not have
such a hard time.
To me there is nothing like the bond with
child when breastfeeding--

Breast feeding has never appealed to me
either, my husband told me that they will
pressure me at the hospital to do it but
i'm not going to. My brother and I both
were on formula and I turned out fine.
When your an adult you can't separate the
breastfed people from the fomula people.
I'm going to give formula because i'm not
comfortable breastfeeding. Some woman
have the need/urge to some woman don't I
don't think it's bad to not want to do it.
Do some research on it if your iffy
about it.
Hope that helps a little

I agree, a lot of women just choose not
to, and that is okay too. For me, it was
very important. And they will pressure
you to do it, at the hospital--very true.

This is my first too, but i'm going to try
and do both breast and bottle feed. Like
you said I don't want to be out in public
and have to worry about breastfeeding baby
so i'm just going to pump for that. I
think as long as the baby is getting the
nutrients from the milk it doesn't really
matter how it's fed, but then theres
nothing wrong with the formula either, its
just a lot cheaper this way.

I prefer to breastfeed. With my first
though it wasn't so easy. I had her the
day before my 18th birthday. She just did
not want to latch on. By the time she was
two weeks old, I had her on formula. With
my second, I bf her til she was 6 months
old. I also bf my third. There are
advantages & disadvantages with both
breastfeeding & formula. If you bf,
it will help to contract uterus, you will
lose your baby weight faster, & it is
more nutritious. But with formula, you
won't suffer cracked, sore nipples &
you can whip out a bottle anywhere. It
just depends on the individual. I would @
least try when your baby is born. If its
not for you, then that is okay too.
