Hello, I am a 32 year old female with four girls. I recently had my last little addition. I have had three c-sections and tested positive for a std when I had my first child. I didn't know I had the std so it went undetected for some time (my ex-husband was very unfaithful and gave me a std, flowers would have been better). When my last baby was delivered I was told that I had too much scar tissue to be able to have a tubal ligation done, now leaving me worried that I can get pregnant at any time. I was told a laparoscopy was not suggested because the amount of scar tissue was too much and it was too much of a risk for me to take just to have the tubal ligation done. My doctors told me it is too dangerous for me to be pregnant again. The delivery of my last child was very complicated, I was told the doctor had a very hard time getting the baby out, which could have been because of the scar tissue. There aren't many choices of birth control out there that I feel are safe, leaving me with the decision of getting the iud. My question is... Is there such thing as too much scar tissue that a laparoscopy can not be done or too dangerous to be done? I have heard stories of women who have been told the same about them and yet have had the laparoscopy done. At the moment I do have a lot of discomfort on my ovaries and a lot of cramping that the doctor says is from the scar tissue. I don't want to go living my life having to adjust to the pain because there is no way around it.
