I woke up one morning a few weeks ago with just the first joint on my index finger very sore, red and swollen. I still have this problem a few weeks later--could this be arthritis? I have not had anything happen to my finger but it came on so sudden,im wondering. Thanks

Arthritis tends to slow on-set disease, unlikely to produce the symptons you desribed.

I would recommend a visit your local md/gp
