I am so sorry this is happening with your daughter. Drug use can cause seizures but there can also be an ongoing problem. I am not sure what tests they did when she had her first seizure....

I really recommend getting her to a neurologist and letting him run tests like an eeg to see if he can figure what is going on.

Those blackouts could be seizures (there are over 20 different kinds of seizures), but only the doctor can tell you for sure. They are a concern anyway!

I really hope you can get her help! Hoping she will stay away from speed now for good as well!

drug use can cause seizures, it can also bring out something that has been lying dormant in the brain for so long. Its a well known fact that mental disorders can be caused by drugs ( chemical imbalences in the brain) it does sound like to me that your daughter has some kind of epilepsy. Is she on any medication for this. I mean stopping her drug addiction is a good thing, but now it could have left a mark behind on her brain. Just because she has had grand mal type seizures in the past from drug use. Now her main problem sounds like petit mal seizures. They are the ones where you loose facial tone and you go pale blank outs. Then you go on with what you were doing before. If she is having alot of them now. Keep a diary from now till you can get in to a neurologist, write down her menstural cycle also, see if they are more frequent before or after or during that time of the month. These are all things that I have had to do. I have not long come out of hospital myself from having a one week stay at a neurology hospital for extensive video eeg monitoring. Its well worth it. If you have documented times and dates and the length of time they lasted and what they resembeled. The seizures. Also with the face drop type, ( petit mal ) you can have up to 100 per day they last seconds. And can go un noticed for years.
