Some paranoid people feel they actually deserve their imagined persecution, researchers have found. Others do not.

Worldsci - great article. Thought provoking.

Could you then draw a conclusion: that when we experience the normal sort of peaks and troughs of depression in our lives, that our self esteem would then go up when we are not depressed, and down when we are. In saying that, then we would chop and change from 'poor me' to 'bad me' depending upon our state of depression or lack thereof - possibly many times throughout our lives? Or people that are mostly depressed, most of the time, are more likely to be 'bad me' sort of people. They internalise the blame, more likely to be suicidal, eating disorders etc. The 'poor me' people seem to be the narcissistic sort of types, that blame everyone else for their problems, and externalise things.

Hmmmm, you could go as far and start classifying gender into this too. I wonder how many women are bad me types, and men poor me? Would be interesting if they did further studies on this topic.
Going off on a tangent here...Lol.
