Dont know of any cures period. It depends on what type of night time seizures the child has.....Some types are benign and do usually get outgrown. Benign rolandic, familial frontal nocturnal and benign occipital are just some that typically are outgrown by puberty.


My son has mostly seizures in sleep. His are not any of the benign forms. He was treated for a few years, treatment was stopped for 3 years and seizures got really bad and he lost skills during that time. He is now back on medication and doing better.


I know it is a real concern when you read the side effects of these medications. Seizures have side effects too if left untreated. If your friend does not feel she has confidence in this neurologist she should get a second opinion and ask what might happen if his type is not treated.

Hello I am a young aduit 21years old I have been taken fits when I am in bed too! I have been told by my boyfriend that is what I do I shake very fast I do not know I am shakeing at all I do not remmber it too! I do not anser qustion if I have been ask something he said somthing to me becouse he thought I was a wake and I did not anser I just shake and I did not stop for long time good few mins and I think I get them evey night this moring wake up really tiyed and thought I had no sleep that what it felt like I think I must had a fit in the night but I do not know!

Hi iam 17 now.When I was ten I was have night time seizures intill I was 12.It depends what kind of seizures he is having there is all different kinds of seizures.But if he is having seizures he needs to be on medcation.When I had night time seizures I would be sleeping fall out of my bed.They put me on keppra I have been on it since I was ten years old.It stop me from having night time seizures.Fine out what type he is having.Grand mal is the worse kind.Get him on meds!!
