:( i've had for some time now pain in my left groin area, pelvic area, and abdominal area. I went to the doctor and he performed an internal exam -- didn't feel anything. Requested ultrasound & ct scan. On 10/21 had pelvic ultrasound which reflected a 2.3 cm cyst on left ovary but couldn't identify right ovary. On 10/27, had a ct scan performed which reflected a large low desnity septated mass sitting on the left iliacus muscle in the mild pelvis measuring 5.6x3.67 cm with a hounsfield # =23 and disputed the ultrasound results stating that it is a septated not simple cyst. Still having pain and a repeat pelvic transvaginal ultrasound was performed on 11/10 which stated that neither ovary was visible but the ultrasound on the abdomen stated that a 3.5x1.9 hypoechoic structure was present which corresponds to the cystic structure seen in the ct scan and isn't a simple cyst -- no through-transmission and may represent a complex cyst/mesenteric cyst/complex lymphocele and a second 1.8x2 cm structure in the left lower quadrant which is hypechoic and see no correlation for it on the ct - may be a bowel loop. Repeat ct scan performed on the abdomen/pelvis on 11/22 which reflects a change in the pelvis -- septated mass has greatly resolved although there is still an area of parenchymal high density with some low density component remaining. This high desnity is elongated with a length of about 4.4 cm and a transverse diameter of about 1.5 cm. Overall this seems to be a solid structure with the septated low desnity mass collapsing but still present with overall length of about 2.6 cm and diameter of about .8 cm.
Additionally, there is a new right adnexal low density mass with a diameter of about 3.32 cm. Its hounsfield # = 24, not diagnostic of a cyst. This sits in a tissue mass which is about 4.8 cm. Greatest diameter. In the abdomen mesenteric fat planes show an occasional nonspecific lymph node. There are some prominent inguinal lymph nodes on each side as before and the largest sits on the left with a diameter of about 1 cm. Since all of this has transpired, i've had wbcs in my urine and pain in the flank area & back and was told that I had a uti. Additionally, my alkaline phosphatase (alp) test came by extremely high with the liver fraction causing the out of range high number. I saw my doctor today to discuss the latest ct results and was told that I had a corpus luteum hematoma that burst but still remains inside of me and that my body would rid itself of it and that the mass that they could be referring to was a part of my fallopian tubes. He also told me that he couldn't guarantee that the mass was absolutely benign nor malignant. What do I now do????? I'm thinking about getting a 2nd opinion. Anyone with thoughts?????????????? Would certainly appreciate it because I was told to return in 3 months for a follow-up even though I expressed to him that I was still having the pain but not like before. He did tell me to return sooner if things got progressively worse. Help!!!
