Q: Antibiotics!

I was out on antibiotics for a week for tonsilitus, I stopped taking them last tuesday and had unprotected sex however my bf pulled out last nite (monday)

i have been taking my pill throughout, am I still unprotected pretty stupid I know!
Heat of the moment! ;-(
please help

That's not good :( from what I understand, you're supposed to use a back-up (like a condom) for the pill when you take antibiotics. But, since it was last week, maybe it doesnt count. I dunno. Look at the instructions, they're pretty detailed (at least they should be).

I no I have heard they only stay in your system a day or two I really do not know!

As long as the antibiotic is in your sytem you should use a back-up when having sex and it all depends on what type of antibiotic you are on as to how you should use the back-up. You can check with the pharmacist on how long back-up should be used.

Ok thanks its amoxillin hopefully I shud be ok as he diddnt say till end of pill packet or anything he just said use protection whilst on them

I'm on the mini pill and had to take antibiotics and the doc told me to use a back up method the whole time I was on antibiotics and for 2 weeks after. Think it's like when u forget a pill, u gotta use a back up method for a week afterwards. Might be different depending on the type of antibiotics though. Best phone your doc and check.
