Hi,

i have recently skipped the sugar pills twice and continued on with my active pills so I dont get my period. This time (the second month I have skipped my period) I actually have my period in the normal time slot but I am taking pills. My question is, ' if I stop my active pills now (tuesday) and just let my period come properly and then start my active pills again on saturday when I usually would after a period, will I need to wait the 2 weeks before I will be protected because i've stopped taking my pill mid cycle? I hope that makes sense. In other words when I start my pill again on saturday and my period stops, will I be able to have unprotected sex or should I wait until ive had my pill for 14 consecutive days again?

Thanks

You need to remember that when you mess with your pills you are messing with your body! My suggestion is to continue your pills and continue them regulary (this means no skipping any pills) and continue to do that every month!

And use a backup method during sex until you get back on track. Every girl that I know that got pregnant on the pill (and I know quite a few) had that happen because of either forgetting or messing around with it.
