Hello, I am a support worker in australia working with hiv positive women. I have been asked by one of my clients to put a question out into the world wide web to see if she can be helped. The question is a medical one and I am unsure as to where to look. The woman has been infected for 14 years with hiv. She has not been on any arv's, has been using complementary therapies and has taken some profylaxis for pcp and mac. She recently went through a year of strict dieting and training to train for a body sculpting competition (this woman has always been involved in sport). She got to the comp. But her health declined rapidly after she had finished the dieting regime. Her stomach has distended itself, she has put on nearly twenty kilos in a matter of weeks, her thighs are swollen and she is putting on weight and inches practically over night. She is now hospitalised and is going through every test imaginable but the doctors are coming up with nothing. Would it be possible for you to put this on a medical website and post my email address.Au also if you have any ideas or have heard of this happening before I would be most interested to know.
Thank you for your time.
