Hello everyone, I am an 18 male. In the last few days something quite surprising happened to me... One evening, im at the movies watching a funny movie, when all of a sudden my heart started beating quite rapidly and with strong pulses. This was then followed by a bit of panic which I subdued myself, but throughout the rest of the movie, and that evening I was quite worried about what that was. When I was back home, I experienced certain palpitations, which I still do, and these palpitations are quite new to me. I do regular excercise, not only in school, and im in fairly good shape. I have a semi healthy diet, I dont eat too many fat products, though that night I did eat some ice cream. Basically I have no idea what is going on in my chest, I only know that it is driving me mad.. I have a hard time sleeping and I tend to feel these palpitations all the time now for a couple of days. Here in panama, going to the doctor isnt free, and I dont feel too comfy asking my parents to take me to the doctor unless im sure there is some good reason, so I would like to hear the oppions of some of you on this site.

I would like to know if what im experiencing is common, and whether or not I have a reason to be worried. Im hoping it is something that will go away in time, sometimes I dont feel the palpitations, or maybe I just ignore them, and sometimes they are strong.
