Q: I Beg You

I beg anyone that can help me to please do so.

Im a 17 year old female from michigan. For the last year or so ive undergone a number of tests that are often painful. Im going to any length to find an answer and through everything no answer has been offered to me. So in an effort to reach out I hope someone will know something.

I have these "attacks" I can be walking down the hall at school, talking to my friends, or I can be laying in my bed sleeping, or in the shower washing my hair. They come everywhere, during anytime. All of a sudden my heart starts to pound, and it feels like im having a hear attack.I have severe palpitations that you can feel from the outside of my chest. My left arms starts to hurt and I cant breath. My face turns all red, and I have to sit down because I physically cant stand. These last anywhere from 3 minutes to 3 hours. And they come at random. Through all of my attempts to keep track of them there is no pattern. Ive tried all sorts of muscle relaxors, tried every new type of diet, delelted caffine from my diet.

Im truthfully at a loss. And I dont know where to go from here. Ive been to so many speciallists and none seem to understand the severity of it.

There are some things I have noticed that tend to trigger it. Heat being the main one. Almost every time I step in the shower and lift my hands over my head to wash my hair I have an attack.

If anyone has any information...Any at all I ask you please share it with me.

Thanks...
Fragile

Sure sounds like you are having panic attacks. These are quite common. I have had some myself. They can trigger at anytime and you definately feel as if you are losing control. Thinking you are having a heart attack is what this feels like. Do you get the flight/fight syndrome? I have always gotten flight. When a panic attack comes on, I have always wanted to start moving. That has always been to start running. You can try xanax or try an anti depressant. I am not a believer in these type meds. You may look into trying hypnotherapy. I typed it in google and typed in my hometown and found several people who practice this craft. I hear it is very beneficial and can help find the underlying cause of your panic. I know when I come accross the same place I have had a panic attack before, it will trigger me thinking about the attack. This is probably why the shower tends to trigger an attack. My best theory, other than drugs, I sto try hypnotherapy. I am going to try it myself and will report back my experience. Also find a good friend or family member that will listen as you talk out your anxiety/panic.

Good luck

Well it is either physical or mental. Sounds like you have seen many doctors to find out if it is physical, and by the sound of your post, they cant find anything wrong. I too dont seem to have a lot of anxiety in my life, but there have been times I have had panic attacks that come out of the blue. I am sure these attacks are causing you a great deal of anxiety. Probably to the point of 24/7 anticipating another episode. I would still look at the possibility that this is not physical and is mental and find ways to deal with these episodes.

I hope it all works out for you
