Is Premature Ejaculation Normal? Posted: 11-25-05 19:53pm
I am a 17 year old male who has been
experiencing premature ejaculation. Six
months ago, I recieved my first ever oral
sex. At that time, I did not experience
any pe and I was able to control it well.
During this time I recieved oral sex a
few times and handjobs other times without
any problems. In fact, I didn't even
have to think about it. However,
recently I have not been able to control
myself beyond 10 or 15 seconds after she
starts. Now, I know that inexperience
can lead to this as well as other factors.
I just find it wierd that I was able to
go a long time my first few times and now
it's like I can't get past 30 seconds.
I usually masturbate around 5-6 times a
week, sometimes less, usually not much
more. I don't know what the effects of
masturbating are but I have probably
sustained it since the age of 13 or so.
I have experimented with the stop and
start during masturbation and will
continue to. Recently I notice, I
ejaculate much earlier during masturbation
also. I am not completely convinced it
isn't physical, but I doubt it because I
was able to last longer at one point. I
am in a relationship and it has become
frustrating for me. I can't even fathom
the idea of having sex until I can get
this worked out. I know anxiety only
contributes but all I can think about is
trying not to come...This completely takes
away from the experience, and probably
makes it worse.
Any help would be welcome. I am more
curious to how many people have
experienced the problem and if they have
been able to overcome it. More than
that, has anyone had it go away with
experience? What have you done to
overcome the problem?

It's a number of things. First off,
considering your age, chances are that
nerves are playing a very large part in
this problem. Are you under any type of
stress? This also will have a
detrimental effect. Are on on any type
of medication? You might also try
masturbating once or twice prior to sex to
help you last longer. Learning kegels,
over time, will allow you to
orgasm/ejaculate when you are ready to.
Orgasms are almost completely mental
(~90%), and therefore it usually takes
more or less time for you to orgasm based
on the mental state you are in. If you
find the stimulation pleasing, you'll
likely orgasm more quickly than if you
find it not to be stimulating or
pleasing.
Many many people come with the same
problems as you, as well as not being able
to orgasm. In more cases than not, it's
not true premature ejaculation, as much as
it is something in their life that is
causing the problem. At your age, you
shouldn't be to concerned about it.
